Roofing Provides 100% Cost Recovery for Exterior Projects

Not only does a new roof top the cost recovery for exterior projects, when it's a low-maintenance, durable DaVinci roof it's also problem-free and long-lasting, not to mention bursting with curb appeal.
Where do you want to invest your money to make a worthwhile impact on improving your home’s exterior? According to the 2022 Remodeling Impact Report, there are two major products that give you 100% cost recovery: garage doors and roofing.

Sponsored by the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) and the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), the report analyzes almost two dozen different remodeling projects. The study results are based on feedback from owners regarding their “Joy Factor,” from REALTORS® with respect to cost recovery at resale, and from NARI members regarding remodeling project fees.

Consumers view the most important result of adding a new roof as gaining a durable roof with long-lasting results and materials (61% of surveyed people). Which makes quite a bit of sense, since the top two reasons for those people surveyed replacing their roofs was to upgrade worn-out surfaces/materials (51%) and to add features and improve livability (21%).

What type of happiness quota does the new roof bring to homeowners? Quite a bit. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the highest, the Joy Factor is ranked at 9.2 for people who have completed a new roof project. 87% of those respondents have a greater desire to be home since completing the project.

Incentives to Replace a Roof

According to the study, the cost recovery is 100% of value recovered from the project investment. With numbers like that, what could make a homeowner even more convinced to invest in a new roof?

What about a Lifetime Limited Material Warranty on the roofing tiles. Or the potential to save year-after-year on homeowner insurance. Or the option of having low-maintenance roofing that needs no yearly treatments. These all come when homeowners make the decision to invest in composite shake and slate roofing, like that available from DaVinci® Roofscapes.

TCO and ROI

If you’re considering a new roof, then get familiar with the terms Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and Return on Investment (ROI).

On a commercial project, a manager carefully analyzes the TCO before investing in building products. This includes roofs. That’s to make sure the best long-term purchase is made.

Homeowners are more familiar with the term ROI. In many ways it’s similar to TCO, but on a consumer level.

Roofing is a large investment. That’s why you’ll need to do your research before making a purchase. It’s not just enough for a survey to tell you that you’ll receive a 100% ROI on a new roof. You have to research and select the new roof that will bring long-lasting beauty and durability to your home. That’s a primary reason why it’s worth the time to investigate the TCO and ROI DaVinci products offer.

Start at the Beginning

Made of virgin resins, UV and thermal stabilizers with a highly-specialized fire retardant, DaVinci products are Class A fire and Class 4 impact rated. That’s the top-of-the-line ratings. They can handle severe weather conditions including hail and hurricane strength winds up to 180 mph.

Over time, these composite roofing tiles resist fading, rotting and cracking. Insects also can’t find a home here. Silverfish, termites, carpenter ants and beetles can’t penetrate the DaVinci roofing.

Algae-Resistant Roof Shingles

Another problem many roofing products have is mold and algae. When rain gets trapped under some shingles, it gets damp and moss and mildew can grow.

DaVinci manufactures algae-resistant roofing shingles. Quite simply, mold, moss, mildew and algae doesn’t grow on DaVinci products. That means less headaches for homeowners — and fewer roof repairs and replacements during the lifespan of the roof.

Oh, Joy!

Without the maintenance hassles or weather worries, a composite roof is easy to fall in love with. The realistic-looking slate and shake profiles, available in a wide range of colors, makes it even easier. You can find the free resources available from DaVinci to try on different colors and profiles before ever investing in their roofs.

Composite shake and slate roofs are more than just the first line of protection for a home. They’re the statement of style that enhances the home exterior. For now and for decades to come.
