Synthetic Slate Takes on Stormy Weather

Unpredictable weather can be brutal on roofs. As Paul Wang discovered, that’s especially true in Houston.

In 2019 Wang’s home went through another bad storm. This time, the winds were so severe that shingles were torn off the roof. In addition, hail damaged many roof shingles.

“When a sales representative from Affluent Exteriors explained the benefits of synthetic slate tiles, I was ready to make the change,” says Wang. “We previously had asphalt shingles. They were about 22 years old. Between the hail and the wind we knew it was time for a new roof.

“The DaVinci slate roof we have now looks beautiful. The Castle Gray color adds to our home’s overall appearance. Most importantly, we now feel protected from bad weather.”
